ITI Courses

Age Limit::

1. Age limit is between 14-40 as on August1, at the time of NCVT course commencement

2. There is a higher age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

1. Draughtsman Civil

A concise 2-year course in Civil Engineering subjects along with building construction and drawing. The course is conducted by the institute since its inception in 1962. Since then several thousands of students have joined this course and secured employement in reputed organizations in the area of building construction. Considering the increased opportunity of employment in Surveying especially in the Middle East, the institute also gives training in Total Station Survey, AutoCAD and Quantity Survey as value additions to this course. There are ample employment opportunities in Departments like PWD's CPWD and Department of Irrigation to mention a few possible employers.

2. Surveyor

A popular one-year course which qualifies a student for ample employment opportunities in our country as well as abroad. Because of this reason large number of students from all parts of the state join this course. A three week surveying camp is included in the curriculum which helps the students to execute a project. This is an added advantage in that the students get the opportunity to be trained hands-on in Total Station and GPS Surveying which would enable thme to secure handsomely paid jobs, particulary in the Gulf Countries.

3. Electrician

The Electrician trade has become very attractive as it enables self employment with little investment. Those who complete this course successfully develop the potential to secure employment in both Government and private sectors. The institute also helps them in obtaining license for undertaking house wiring, load calculations for getting an LT connection, installation of electrical appliances and their repair/services

KGCE Courses

1. Automobile Engineering

The Public craze for ownership of an automobile never ends. The demand is increasing manifold every year. this situation has increased opportunities for trained people in automobile engineering. the course in Automobile Engineering therefore includes all the skills needed in the production, repair and maintenance of automobiles. Those who pass the course successfully can secure a job not only as an automobile technician, but also as a vehicle inspector or salesman.

2. Mechanical Engineering

In this modern world one cannot imagine living without machines. In every walk of life we find machines taking over most of the household and field work from our hands, thanks to technological advances in the field of mechanical engineering. Here the students are given training in theory as well as in practical sessions. Machine drawing, sketching, tracing, estimating and plot shop drawing are included in the curriculum. Planning and erection of huge plants, factories, installation of heavy foundations, industrial and production engineering are additional subjects in which the students are trained. There are several employment opportunities in workshops, departments like PWD, KSEB and shipyard for students qualified in this area.

3. Civil Engineering

This branch of engineering relates to the study of services needed for prosperous living without disturbing the ecological balance. Taming of natural resources and using them for the development of the country, providing drinking water, public health and sanitation, road and inland water transport, hydropower generation, river and coastal protection etc., are some of the jobs undertaken by Civil Engineers. The students are given a concise study of civil subjects to equip them with sufficient knowledge in the field. There are lots of employment opportunities in the local administration as well as Govt. departments like PWD, Survey, Revenue, Irrigation and others.

4. Electrical Engineering

The consumption of electrical energy as an essential commodity is increasing manifold. The major sources are hydropower, thermal, nuclear and wind. All these sources are not enough to cope up with our increasing need. We have to think of tapping wind and solar energy on a large scale to meet our future demands. Electrical Engineering students are taught theory and practicals to enable them to perform installation and operation of all types of electrical machineries like DC and AC motors, generators, alternators, transformers, capacitors etc. Reading of measuring devices like voltmeters and ammeters is also covered. House wiring, load calculation for electrical connection , installation of electrical appliances, their servicing and repair are also taught. The institute also helps them to get a license, so that they can independently work and seek self employment. Employment opportunity is also available in PWD, KSEB and TELK to name a few.

5. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning

This is a course which attracts lots of students as it is a forerunner in employment opportunity in our country and the Middle East. There are numerous brands of refrigerators and ACs are available in the market and this is the reason why there are lots of job opportunities. The institute teaches students the basics of electricity, refrigeration and air conditioning along with practical knowledge in our well-equipped lab with a sufficient number of refrigerators and air conditioners. Sample of the latest type of refrigerators and air conditioners are also available to make the students aware of the latest technologies in the field. The latest techniques to reduce pollution from CFC gases produced by coolants will also be included. The job opportunities are in showrooms as salesman, service mechanic, repair and maintenance staff etc. It also acts as a starting point for self employment.
